DESIGNING AN AR/VR INTEGRATED TEACHING MATERIAL

     Hello everyone!

How are you doing these days? I hope you all great and ready for the finals week. If you are asking me, it's getting harder everyday to keep up with the assignments. I've learned from experiences that procrastinating always leads to deep regret. So, I am trying to be the best of myself and don't procrastinate studying. 😣

Nevermind. Let's talk about this week's assignment on Current Issues class. 2 weeks ago, at class, we reminded what was the AR and VR and saw some examples on them. If you often get confused like me, AR is augmented reality that adds digital elements to real world. And more beyond of it, is VR. VR is a virtual reality that creates fully virtual and immerse world. Later that class, our instructor told us to create a AR/VR integrated teaching material and I panicked the moment I heard it.

Relax, relax. We're not creating an AR or VR video ourselves. We just need to use existing ones from the internet and integrate them into our material. That's it.

For this material we needed to form groups of 4. And I wanted to work with my dear friend Fatma Reyhan Tuğ and the two lovely besties Sümeyya Ataş and Sümeyra Aslan. For the material we had 2 topic options to chose: Exploring a city abroad or Exploring a global issue. My lovely group and I decided to choose the first one and decided to introcude our students to France. We needed to introduce 2 landmarks, 1 museum and 1 festival or traditional food. We split each category to each member and started to work on Canva.

Obviously, while introducing the city we needed to use their 360 videos, videos or 3D models. However, it wasn't hard to find them as they are highly known places. After we put them, we asked 4 or 5 questions to asses understanding of the students.

I really liked the result. Please click here to have a look at it.

And lastly, this is the ASSURE lesson plan for this lesson. If you have any questions please feel free to ask anything comes to your mind.

Take care, see you in the next post!

 Love youuuuu. 💝
