My Journey in Infographics Creation

 Hi, readers!

How are you all? I hope you are doing well. Today, I'll write about my assignment in the Instructional Technologies and Material Design class. Last week, our instructor assigned us the creation of an infographic that informs and educates about ethical and legal issues in technology use. I've just finished my infographic and I want to write about its process, design, etc.

First of all, for those who don't know what an infographic is, it's a visual representation of information as a chart or diagram. My infographic is about cyberbullying in technology use. I chose this topic because it's massively common and people, especially teens, should be aware of it. I wanted to inform people without boring them, so I made a diagram by using Venngage.

I divided the topic into 5 subheadings: What is it? , how it happens? , what are the effects of it? , how to stop it? and what are the general statistics of cyberbullying? I put pictures about every subheading, changed the colors of important words, used lines and shapes. Although I struggled with giving references at first, I handled it by embedding the links into the source numbers, which were written in a small font at the bottom of the page. This way references not stand out and they’re in the correct form. As for my opinions about infographics, it was a fun experience, I really liked it.

One last thing before finishing my writing! From my experience of making an infographic, I want to say that infographics are beneficial for learning. Because they make it easier to read complex and looong texts and hold attention as they are colorful. In English classrooms, infographics can be used in order to increase comprehension and make learning more entertaining.
