My Journey in Vox Pop Creation

 Hi, readers!

How are you all? I hope you are great. The weather is wonderful out there. Enjoy the weather! ☀️

In this post, I am writing about the Vox Pop journey that me and my peer took. I'll discuss it in detail but first I want to thank my peer, Fatma Reyhan Tuğ, for her great ideas and contributions to our podcast.

Last week, our instructor gave us a podcast assignment to create and publish. While discussing what type of podcast to create we agreed on Vox Pop as we found it the most enjoyable. First, we had a brainstorm on the question we would ask. It supposed to be a question to which we can get creative and different types of answers, so we got the question: What is the one thing you want to do before you die?

After we decided on our question, we wandered around the campus and talked some people. We got 13 answers and their answers showed that most people want to visit or live in another country. In last part, we talked about the most interesting ones and finished our podcast. As for it’s editing, I thought it would be a tough process at first. However it wasn’t that hard, I believe. We combined our audio records together, added background sounds, an intro and outro music. Actually, it was fun to decide which sound to add, and adjust sound volumes.

As I enjoyed during the process, I may consider to assign my students a homework like this in the future. I found the voice recording extremely beneficial in English learning as students are able to record, listen and correct themselves. It can be used for improving pronounciation, learning and using new speech patterns and collocations in an entertaining way.

That’s all for today, please comment below if you have any suggestions for the podcast. See you in next post! xx
